Position Summary

VPC Electric is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Service Dispatcher / Project Coordinator to serve as the communication hub between our customers, field technicians, vendors, and operations team.

This position is responsible for scheduling service calls, coordinating technician workloads, supporting project logistics, monitoring job progress, and ensuring every customer receives an exceptional experience from the initial phone call through project completion.

What You'll Be Doing

Dispatch & Scheduling

  • Receive, prioritize, and schedule incoming residential and commercial service requests
  • Dispatch electricians based on location, skill set, availability, and job urgency
  • Monitor technician schedules throughout the day and make real-time adjustments as priorities change
  • Coordinate emergency service requests and schedule changes
  • Maximize technician productivity while minimizing drive time and downtime

Customer Service

  • Answer incoming customer calls with professionalism and enthusiasm
  • Schedule appointments and provide appointment confirmations
  • Communicate technician arrival windows, schedule updates, and job status
  • Follow up with customers after service to ensure satisfaction
  • Professionally resolve scheduling conflicts and customer concerns

Project Coordination

  • Assist with coordinating residential and commercial electrical projects
  • Monitor project timelines and job progress
  • Coordinate material orders and deliveries with suppliers and vendors
  • Ensure technicians have the necessary information, permits, and materials before arriving on-site
  • Communicate project updates between customers, technicians, and management

Administrative Support

  • Create, update, and close work orders
  • Maintain accurate customer records and job documentation
  • Assist with invoicing, job costing, and administrative follow-up
  • Track service calls, project status, and customer communications
  • Support billing and collections follow-up when needed

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to improve workflow and efficiency
  • Support field technicians with scheduling, logistics, and communication
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and the overall customer experience

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of dispatch, scheduling, or project coordination experience in a service-based industry
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based scheduling software
  • Positive attitude with a solution-oriented mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the electrical, HVAC, plumbing, construction, or skilled trades industry
  • Experience with dispatch software such as ServiceTitan, Jobber, Housecall Pro, or similar field service platforms
  • Experience with Construction Management Software
  • Familiarity with residential and commercial electrical service operations

  • Full-time
  • Monday–Friday
  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Occasional overtime or after-hours coordination for emergency service scheduling may be required
