Position Overview 

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. This role is heavily focused on residential service work, requiring an electrician who can confidently troubleshoot, diagnose, recommend solutions, and communicate effectively with homeowners while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong residential service background, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and the technical expertise to perform electrical work across residential, commercial, and industrial environments. 

This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects—from residential service calls and remodels to commercial projects, tenant improvements, and light industrial applications—while collaborating with a team of experienced Journeymen and apprentices. You will be expected to operate at a high level, think critically, and ensure all work is completed safely and in full compliance with electrical codes.

What You'll Do

  • Uphold VPC Electric's standards of safety, organization, and workmanship 
  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment with confidence and accuracy 
  • Perform work across residential service calls, repairs, remodels, new construction, industrial and commercial projects 
  • Diagnose electrical issues efficiently using schematics, testing devices, and field experience; document findings and recommend solutions 
  • Execute panel upgrades, rewires, tenant improvements, and system installations 
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to accurately execute projects 
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other specialized equipment to perform precise electrical work 
  • Work with low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and high voltage systems 
  • Adhere to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards 
  • Collaborate with construction teams on renovation projects and new installations while ensuring compliance with safety protocols 
  • Maintain accurate job documentation and notes (Service Titan experience is a plus) 
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, contractors, vendors, and team members 
  • Mentor apprentices and contribute to a high-performance team culture 
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety procedures and regulations related to electrical work on construction sites

What We're Looking For 

Required: 

  • Active Dual-State Licensing (ID & WA) OR: have either WA (01) or ID Journeyman Electrical License with a scheduled date for testing to obtain the secondary journeyman license 
  • Minimum of 2 years of residential service electrician experience 
  • Strong residential troubleshooting, critical thinking and diagnostic skills 
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and state electrical codes 
  • Experience in residential, commercial, and construction environments 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams 
  • Proficiency with electrical tools and diagnostic equipment (multimeters, etc.) 
  • Ability to work independently and within a team 
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record 
  • High standards of safety, professionalism, accountability, and workmanship 

Preferred: 

  • Strong background in construction (remodeling, framing, or related trades) 
  • Experience with low voltage systems, controls, or PLCs 
  • Service Titan experience 
  • Leadership or apprentice mentoring experience 
  • 3-Tier Sales Model experience 
  • Experience presenting repair and upgrade options directly to residential customers  

Compensation & Incentives  

  •  $40—$55/hour (DOE) 
  • $100K+ annual earning potential for top performers
