Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and capable 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice to join our growing team. In this role, you will assist in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across residential, commercial, and industrial environments. You will work directly alongside experienced Journeyman electricians, gaining real-world experience while being expected to think critically, develop troubleshooting skills, and operate with professionalism on every jobsite. This is a hands-on role designed for apprentices who want to advance and perform at a high level.
What You’ll Do
- Uphold VPC Electric’s standards of safety, organization, and workmanship
- Assist in installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems
- Support work across residential service, remodels, new construction, and commercial projects
- Assist with panel upgrades, rewires, lighting installs, and system improvements
- Build on knowledge to diagnose electrical issues with field experience using schematics and testing devices
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and basic electrical diagrams
- Safely utilize hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment (multimeters, etc.)
- Work alongside construction teams on job sites and understand project flow
- Maintain accurate job notes and communicate effectively with your team
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following all safety protocols
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice (Idaho or Washington) with Active Apprentice License
- Willingness to obtain Apprentice License in the second state (ID or WA)
- Currently enrolled in a state-approved apprenticeship program
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, safety practices, and basic NEC code knowledge
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to properly use a measuring tape, hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete electrical tasks according to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards
- Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting ability (or developing skillset)
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred:
- Background in construction (remodeling, framing, or jobsite experience)
- Exposure to residential, commercial, or new construction electrical work
- Knowledge of NEC standards, high voltage and low voltage wiring practices
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Compensation & Incentives
